The second half of 2026 will bring new cruise debuts to Spanish ports, with Barcelona as the main protagonist. Explora III, MSC World Asia, Seven Seas Prestige and Viking Libra will add calls, departures or inaugural events in Spain, extending their presence to Palma de Mallorca, Puerto Banús, Cádiz, A Coruña, Bilbao and Malaga.

Explora III will open this calendar with its official presentation in Barcelona on 1 August. Two days later it will begin its first itinerary from the Catalan capital, with calls at Palma de Mallorca, Puerto Banús, Cádiz, A Coruña and Bilbao, meaning that six Spanish ports will be part of its first operations. MSC World Asia will also have Barcelona as its home port during its deployment in the Mediterranean in the winter of 2026, reinforcing the city’s importance in the scheduling of new ships.

Viking Libra will likewise include Barcelona in its itineraries planned for December. That same month will see the debut of Seven Seas Prestige, whose first commercial voyage will depart on the 13th from the Catalan capital and will include Malaga as a port of call. The programme thus positions Barcelona as the main Spanish hub for debuts, while extending the impact to destinations in the Mediterranean, Andalusia, Galicia, the Basque Country and the Balearics which will receive some of the most important newly built ships scheduled for the final stretch of the year.
