Barcelona have suffered a heavy blow in the current summer transfer window, one that threatens their pursuit of a new centre-forward.
According to the website “Foot Mercato“, the Catalans recently turned their attention to Nicolo Tresoldi, the 22-year-old German striker who plays for Club Brugge.
The deal looked unlikely at first. Brugge had already rejected a 35 million euro offer from Roma, but Barcelona’s interest changed the game entirely.

Spanish media report that Manchester United and Chelsea have also enquired about Nicolo’s situation, and both could enter the race in the final weeks of the window.
That growing competition has forced a rethink. Brugge are now willing to let Tresoldi go, provided a rewarding offer lands on the table. The Belgian club have set their demands at around 50 million euros, a figure that could complicate matters for sporting director Deco as Barcelona hunt for options to bolster their attack. They want a striker after the exits of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, having missed out on their first target Julian Alvarez, whose club Atletico Madrid refuse to sell to them.
Add the price tag to Chelsea and United circling, and the Tresoldi deal looks to be heading for the rocks too.
