There’s just over a week remaining of the transfer window for the majority of the biggest leagues in the world and business is expected to ramp up significantly over the coming few days. Clubs have already spent billions on new signings and some major deals are still being worked on.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential last-minute deals. The rumour mill is still gathering pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories – you can access the full rumour mill below.
Today’s biggest transfer stories
Chelsea are considering a move for Honest Ahanor, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 18-year-old is viewed as one of the best defensive talents in Europe but Atalanta are determined not to sell after rejecting several bids for him already this summer.
Manchester City will battle Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Cody Gakpo. Both Premier League clubs have approached Liverpool for the Netherlands international and he’s expected to depart Anfield.
Newcastle have submitted an offer of around €40 million for Matias-Fernandez Pardo, according to reports in France. The Belgian international was one of the leading stars in Ligue 1 last season but Lille don’t want to sell their prized asset.
