The city of Santa Clarita has issued a traffic alert for Santa Clarita Valley residents driving in the area of Valencia Boulevard and McBean Parkway.
Drivers should plan ahead for lane closures this weekend as work continues on the Circulation Improvement Program, Phase IV.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, through Sunday, Aug. 30, one lane will be closed on westbound Valencia Boulevard and northbound McBean Parkway at the intersection.
Please allow extra time, use caution when traveling through the area and follow all posted signage.
Once complete, these improvements will help enhance vehicle circulation and improve traffic flow through one of Santa Clarita’s busiest intersections.
The city Santa Clarita has adopted a Circulation Improvement Program to enhance intersection operations and capacity, reduce congestion, and improve safety in response to growth and changing travel patterns.
This project will expand the eastbound and westbound left-turn lanes on Valencia Boulevard from dual to triple lanes to increase capacity and reduce queuing.
Improvements between McBean Parkway and Valencia Mall Entrance include roadway widening, relocation of street light and traffic signal poles, landscaping enhancements, median modifications and updated striping to accommodate the revised lane configuration and improve overall traffic operations.
