Spain cultivates more organic vines than any other country in the world, and Félix Solís Avantis stands at the forefront of the movement – demonstrating that sustainable wine doesn’t have to be more expensive.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), Spain leads the world in vineyards under organic production with 166,286 hectares – 31.5% of the global total – ahead of Italy and France. Growth is concentrated in a handful of regions, led by Castilla-La Mancha, which alone accounts for around 44% of Spain’s organic vineyard and is home to Félix Solís Avantis’ headquarters and largest wineries.
Founded by Félix Solís Fernández in 1952, the winery has remained family-owned ever since and became a wine group in 1977. Today the Solís brothers, the family’s third generation, continue to lead the company, blending tradition with modern techniques. At the heart of their philosophy is the belief that “wine should be available to everyone” – high quality yet affordable.
Félix Solís Avantis offers the widest wine portfolio in the Spanish market (NielsenIQ), with wineries in six key regions – Valdepeñas, La Mancha, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, La Rioja and Toro – and distribution in more than 135 countries. This breadth, combined with ongoing research, enables it to craft internationally acclaimed wines at competitive prices and to tailor its ranges by sales channel, responding efficiently to market demands.
The Félix Solís winery and headquarters in Valdepeñas has grown into one of the largest – and most innovative – wine-producing facilities in the world. It holds Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection (SWfCP) certification, audited under the Spanish Wine Federation’s scheme across governance, social, economic and environmental performance – a nationally and internationally recognised guarantee that the winery’s decision-making and daily management meet strict sustainability criteria.
Commitment to sustainability
For more than 70 years, Félix Solís Avantis has crafted its wines with a strong emphasis on the land, the climate and people, taking a holistic approach that seeks to minimise environmental impact and contribute positively to its communities. Its sustainability strategy focuses on the most material aspects of the group’s operations.
That commitment begins in the group’s own vineyards and with the more than 2,200 independent winegrowers and cooperatives it works with. The winery promotes water stewardship through recirculation projects and optimised irrigation, protecting resources and mitigating environmental impact.
In 2025, the company sourced 99% of the electricity for all its wineries from certified renewable sources. The same year, the main winery in Valdepeñas commissioned a solar farm of 5,458 panels covering 41,662 square metres, complementing two existing photovoltaic systems. Together, the installations cover the equivalent of seven football pitches and supplied nearly 20% of the energy consumed at the winery – putting it on track to meet its strategic goal of generating 25% of its total energy consumption in 2026.
Félix Solís Avantis is also lightweighting its bottles to cut its carbon footprint. Its lightweighting programme now spans 77 stock-keeping units (SKUs) in the UK and removed 981 tonnes of glass August 2026 MAT from the UK supply chain in the past year, cutting freight-related CO₂ emissions. That includes more than 3 million ultra-light bottles introduced in 2025, each weighing 300g, down from 390g.

Organic range
With such a broad selection, there is something for everyone in the Félix Solís Avantis award-winning portfolio. At the heart of its sustainability offer are four organic labels: Blume, Caliza, Rock & Roots, and Castillo de Mureva.
Blume Organic, produced in Rueda on the high plateau of Castilla y León, is made from certified organic Verdejo grapes. This vegan wine offers fresh grassy and fruity aromas, with a gentle herbaceous edge balanced by crisp natural acidity – a harmonious match for rice and pasta dishes, warm salads, creamy sauces, and grilled vegetables.
Caliza celebrates the limestone terroir of La Mancha in central Spain, where its Tempranillo and Verdejo grapes are organically grown. The Tempranillo is a smooth, balanced, easy-drinking wine with aromas of strawberries and red fruits – perfect with pasta, meats, cold cuts, and soft cheeses.
Rock & Roots is a 100% organic range introduced in 2017, crafted from grapes grown in Castilla and Valdepeñas and spanning Tempranillo and Verdejo–Sauvignon Blanc. Since launch, it has become one of the group’s fastest-growing labels, part of an organic portfolio whose sales continue to grow strongly.
Finally, Castillo de Mureva from Castilla-La Mancha is the winery’s lead on trade organic Tempranillo and Verdejo wines, offering high quality at an affordable price.
Together, these four labels reinforce Félix Solís Avantis’ position as a quality-led, sustainability-driven Spanish wine producer.
