After Real Madrid formally initiated disciplinary proceedings against defender Raúl Asencio, José Mourinho expressed his frustration. The club has stated that, based on the seriousness of the offence, it would look into the situation before determining whether to apply a monetary fine or another type of punishment.
This comes after an August incident in which Asencio was fined €14,400 and given an eight-month driving restriction. Mourinho has emphasised that representing Real Madrid entails obligations that go beyond the football ground, even though the issue is currently being reviewed internally.

Mourinho commended Asencio’s dedication to training and acknowledged his professionalism, characterising him as a very hard worker. The Real Madrid manager, however, urged players to continue to represent the team even when they are not playing.
“No one has the same level of training as him; he is an excellent professional. Even off the pitch, though, a Real Madrid player is always a Real Madrid player. “What you do outside damages the club’s reputation,” Mourinho stated.
The manager expressed his disappointment with the issue and its possible effects on the club’s reputation, even if he respects Asencio as a professional.
Real Madrid to Decide on Further Sanction
The course of action, if any, will be decided by Real Madrid’s disciplinary procedures. Before deciding on a possible monetary fine or other disciplinary action, the club is supposed to evaluate the situation.
