TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – For the second time in little more than a month, authorities responded to a high-speed fatal crash at Valencia and Country Club in Tucson.
On Friday, April 10, at least one person was killed in a multiple vehicle crash at the intersection. According to security video obtained by 13 News, two speeding vehicles caused the horrific crash around 1 p.m.
One of the speeding vehicles, a dark blue or black sedan, appeared to have fled the scene.
Critical injuries in Tucson crash near Valencia, Country Club
The accident resulted in a silver car being cut in half and at least one person being killed. A 13 News photographer at the scene saw a child’s car seat in the silver vehicle and children’s clothing and toys strewn across the area.
Another vehicle, a white sedan, was seen with front-end damage. It is unclear if anyone in that vehicle was injured.

A bicyclist was nearly hit and killed by debris from the crash, but the TPD said the rider should be fine.
On March 1, three people were killed, and another suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash at the intersection that the Tucson Police Department said was caused by street racers.
While at the scene, a 13 News photographer saw a memorial to the people killed on March 1 right next to the carnage of Friday’s accident.

In that accident, 20-year-old Ashtyn Vandersloot, 20-year-old Antonio Olalde, and 18-year-old Grace Hobbs died. Vandersloot was the driver, and according to his toxicology report, he was drunk (.113 BAC) and had marijuana in his system.
Olalde (.108 BAC) and Hobbs (.139 BAC) were also legally drunk, according to their reports. Olalde also had cocaine in his system.
The TPD said Vandersloot was likely racing another vehicle, and authorities are asking for help to find the other vehicle, which has not been identified.
The TPD has asked for help identifying this vehicle and individual. Anyone with information should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
