The 2025/26 season has been a historic one for Barça, which generated more revenue than ever before. This is largely thanks to the Camp Nou, where all the pillars for the spectacular roof have now been installed and which is getting closer to being fully reopened.
A record-breaking Barça thanks to the Camp Nou
€1.06 billion was FC Barcelona’s operating revenue last season, the highest figure in its history for a club that has also become the second most valuable football team in the world, behind only Real Madrid.
There is little doubt that the increase from €994 million to the current figure compared with the previous season is largely due to the return to the Camp Nou, which is getting closer to being fully reopened. Barça wants this to happen this season, although it could prove difficult due to further delays. Estimated revenue for this season is even higher, approaching €1.2 billion, with the stadium expected to play a key role.
The stadium currently has 62,652 seats and hopes to increase its capacity soon thanks to the third tier, which will open in stages, probably beginning between January and March. Other major works currently underway include the roof.
Barça has already installed virtually all 46 pillars, each weighing 28 tonnes. They will form the compression ring and support the roof. Only a few gaps remain in the Tribuna area to complete this stage.
This progress allows the next phases to begin: the installation of 92 tensioned cables towards the centre of the pitch, followed by the photovoltaic panels that will cover the three tiers. The roof will cover around 48,000 m².
The club estimates that installing the roof will take around four months, although similar projects have taken up to seven or eight. Given the number of delays already experienced, it would not be surprising if this stage took longer.
However, Barça needs more money to complete all these works, which it will ask members to approve at the online assembly on September 19. The figure being discussed is around €300 million and does not include financing for the Palau Blaugrana.

Barça finds new sources of revenue
This will not be the only matter put to a vote at the assembly. Barcelona is looking for other sources of revenue and appears to have found them in Dubai and through an amusement park at the Camp Nou. The agreement with Ohana includes a Barça-inspired complex in the most important city of the United Arab Emirates, featuring housing, retail and leisure facilities. In addition, the company will replace Acnur as the sponsor on the back of the Barça shirt.
If members approve the project, it would be completed by the end of 2030 and generate €65 million for the club, while the company will already appear on the shirts from next season.
Meanwhile, the agreement with Israeli company Babylon Park would involve creating a children’s amusement park of around 1,000 square metres next to Barça Café on the stadium esplanade.
