Harrison, N.Y. (9/29/26) – Annabelle Valencia recorded her 1,000 career dig as the Kean University women’s volleyball team swept Manhattanville, 3-0 on Tuesday night in non-conference action.

Kean 3, Manhattanville 0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-21)

Tied at 14-all in the opening set, the Cougars used two quick kills to take a lead they would not relinquish.  Penney Hardesty and Ashley Torok closed out the set with a block and kill respectively.

Kean trailed by nine in the second set (14-5), but closed out the set on a 10-0 run to turn the tables and take a 2-0 lead.  Torok helped the surge with three kills and an assisted block.

Knotted up at seven-all in what would be the final set, the Cougars used an 8-2 surge to take the lead for good.  Abigail Carpenter netted three straight kills while Torok and Jayda Golech each recorded an ace.

Valencia registered 20 digs on the night to become the sixth player in program history to cross the 1,000 threshold.  She added three aces and four assists. Torok led Kean with 15 kills and added eight digs.  Madison Hopkins provided eight kills while hitting .429.

Kean returns to NJAC action on Thursday when they host Rutgers-Camden at 7 p.m.
