Serie A interest

Despite still being just 20 years old, Endrick is at serious risk of becoming the latest wonderkid to never maximise their potential due to his predicament at Real Madrid. The striker was profiled as the best young Brazilian protegee since Neymar, which convinced Los Blancos to pay Palmeiras €47.5m to acquire his signature in 2022 – still a record fee for a 16-year-old.Months before joining Madrid officially after his 18th birthday, Endrick fuelled the excitement around him by scoring for Brazil in consecutive games against England and Spain.
His development, however, has unquestionably stagnated at Madrid as he’s been unable to truly earn the trust of several managers and displace world-class attackers. Kylian Mbappé is the prominent figure in Madrid’s attack but Endrick has totalled less than 1,000 minutes since arriving in 2024 with just seven goals scored. After a successful loan spell at Lyon last season, Endrick returned with fresh optimism but has fallen behind Carlos Espí in the pecking order and only played four minutes this season under Jose Mourinho. The €40m-valued star is destined to depart again on-loan in January and we’ve ranked five potential destinations in terms of suitability.
Roma
Roma strongly pursued a move in January before Mourinho demanded that he remained in Madrid. It’s understood that I Giallorossi will return for Endrick in January and a move to Serie A could do wonders for his career. Gian Piero Gasperini has a track-record of improving strikers and the perfect example is Donyell Malen. The Netherlands international has been transformed under Gasperini and Endrick would get plenty of minutes in an attacking side.
AC Milan
AC Milan also pursued a move in the summer and will rival Roma for his signature in January. Ruben Amorim is reportedly pushing for his signature and AC’s participation in the Europa League could be the perfect platform for him to shine. One drawback over a move to I Rossoneri is that Amorim only plays with one striker and they broke their transfer record in the summer to sign Goncalo Ramos.
Arsenal
Any potential move to Arsenal will be dependent on Viktor Gyokeres’ future. The Swedish international has barely featured this season and could move out in January. Arsenal have been linked with Endrick and it would allow him to test himself in the biggest league and one of the best clubs in the world.
Real Betis
It could be a shrewd move for Endrick to remain in LaLiga to show Mourinho that he’s more than capable of excelling in the league. Real Betis are one of the stronger teams in the league, currently sitting third and they are also in the Champions League. Impressing at Betis under the noses of Madrid would only enhance his prospects and he’d be confident of nailing down a starting berth.
Lyon
A return to Ligue 1 wouldn’t be the ideal move as his excellent form at Lyon last season didn’t do anything for his Madrid prospects. Endrick scored eight goals and provided eight assists during his successful loan spell and Lyon would be interested, if the Brazilian was open to a return.
