A total of 48 protocols were signed on Wednesday between companies and entities from Macau, Hengqin, the wider mainland China, and Spain on the second day of Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai\u2019s visit to Madrid.<\/p>\n

Of these, 43 were inked at the economic and trade cooperation promotion session hosted by Macau\u2019s Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM). The event, which brought together some 170 participants, also included 104 business-matching meetings. <\/p>\n

Another five cooperation agreements were signed during a reception hosted by the Macau SAR Government.<\/p>\n

The cooperation protocols and memorandums of understanding involved a wide range of areas, such as green industries, technology, tourism, hospitality, health, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, traditional Chinese medicine, biotechnology, new energy, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), trade, and market expansion.<\/p>\n

The agreements signed on Wednesday \u201clay the foundation for deepening cooperation between Macau and Spain across a wide range of areas,\u201d Sam Hou Fai noted in remarks to the media.<\/p>\n
