A European football expert has suggested that a Tottenham star may be the man to solve Hansi Flick\u2019s biggest issue at Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that we may see a mass exodus from Tottenham this summer if the club are relegated<\/a> from the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Many top clubs across Europe are circling over many of Spurs\u2019 big-name stars<\/a>, as the Lilywhites desperately fight to stay up.<\/p>\n

It has now been suggested that Barcelona may be tempted to raid North London this summer in an effort to solve a defensive issue which has plagued them all season.<\/p>\n

Among the names linked with a move away from N17 is Micky van de Ven, who has admitted that he has been struggling with his own form this season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

European football journalist Lars Sivertsen suggested that the Dutchman\u2019s pace will make him the ideal addition for Barcelona\u2019s back four, given Hansi Flick\u2019s preference for a high defensive line.<\/p>\n

Sivertsen told talkSPORT<\/a>: \u201cI think Barcelona could do with Micky van de Ven<\/a>. If you look back to the heydays of \u2018Ange-ball\u2019 at Spurs<\/a>, they were pushing ridiculously high up the field and kept getting done on the counter.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut so many of those chances were rendered non-chances by Van der Ven just appearing out of nowhere, having covered a mind-boggling amount of space in no time at all for a centre-half.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t feel natural for Barcelona to go hunting amongst relegation battlers in England for defenders, but someone with that kind of pace would make me feel a lot better about the way they defend.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause there\u2019s something about all the money that gets put into this team and all the technical quality that\u2019s on display \u2013 but you saw in a key moment against Atletico, it ended up being a race between Eric Garcia and Alexander Sorloth.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s like watching two supertankers having a race down the Suez Canal. They\u2019re going to win the league and they\u2019re incredible to watch at times. But I do think for the future under Flick, if they\u2019re going to keep doing this, they need a centre half with legs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Van de Ven has had his head turned as big clubs circle over him<\/p>\n

While the Spurs defender has been linked with a move to Camp Nou<\/a>, Barca may not be the only club after him this summer.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Van de Ven<\/a>, while it has been reported by some sources that Man United also have their eye on the Tottenham man<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was claimed by Sports Boom last month that Van de Ven has already had his head turned, amidst interest from the European elite<\/a>, and has made up his mind to leave the North London club this summer.<\/p>\n
