Manchester United<\/a> loanee Marcus Rashford<\/a> got on the scoresheet for Barcelona<\/a> in yet another week dominated by speculation over his long-term future. The England international bagged the second goal in their 2-0 victory over Getafe as they took advantage of Real Madrid’s stumble to move 11 points clear.<\/p>\n

Reports this week have indicated that Barcelona will not activate Rashford’s buyout claus<\/a>e, which would secure a permanent switch to the Nou Camp. It has emerged that Hansi Flick’s side have reversed their stance on triggering the option, reportedly worth around \u00a326million, having been unable to negotiate a deal to sign him outright from United. It’s claimed that sporting director Deco and Flick have mutually agreed that they are unwilling to meet the transfer fee or wages, with the figures described as ‘too high’.<\/p>\n

Fermin Lopez broke the deadlock at the Estadio Coliseum on the stroke of half-time before Rashford wrapped up all three points with 16 minutes remaining.<\/p>\n

It was a quintessential Rashford goal as he used his electrifying pace to latch onto a ball played in behind the defence, with Getafe having pushed men forward.<\/p>\n

The striker burst through and held off two defenders before firing past the goalkeeper. Barcelona now boast a double-digit lead at the top of Spanish football with just 15 points remaining to be contested.<\/p>\n

They have the opportunity to extinguish their title rivals’ hopes of a late charge to derail the La Liga procession when Real Madrid make the trip to the Camp Nou on 10th May.<\/p>\n

Flick heaped praise on the United loanee as he put into perspective just how crucial his contribution, and 13th goal of the campaign, truly was.<\/p>\n

He said: “Marcus came on in the second half and he used the space they give us. We spoke about this at half time.<\/p>\n

“I am happy for the team, for us and also for him that he scored this goal because it was so important for him and also for us.<\/p>\n

“We [only] celebrate the victory. It’s different. I said to the team before the game, we only focus on the day to day, on our job, what we have to do.<\/p>\n

“When we play like this, I am really happy. I appreciate a lot what we do with the ball, but also against the ball. It’s not easy here, but today was nearly perfect.<\/p>\n

“[The title] is not done. We have five games more and we focus only on the next game.
