\u201cIt was the right result here, because Madrid have incredible potential. It was a draw, but it feels like a survival.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe struggled; Madrid were the better side and had more chances, but the best thing was the mentality and the defensive work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOne point, and I\u2019m happy for the players because they put in a massive effort,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

One of the most debated moments of the match came late on, involving Kylian Mbappe<\/a> and a potential penalty appeal after contact with Vitor Reis.<\/p>\n

When asked about the incident, Michel admitted he did not have a clear view from the touchline but relayed what he had been told by his player.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t see it. I was too far away, honestly. My player tells me he was ahead in the challenge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cVitor said he didn\u2019t make any move to shake off Mbappe. He says it was a tussle and that he was ahead of him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems to me that there are a lot of incidents being penalised that are outside the scope of the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe match was fair. I think there were very few fouls and there was plenty of playing time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Backing Madrid for Champions League comeback<\/p>\n

Despite denting their domestic hopes, Michel ended on a positive note for Real Madrid, backing them to respond in Europe.<\/p>\n
