{"id":13900,"date":"2026-04-29T12:18:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T12:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/13900\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T12:18:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T12:18:17","slug":"celluloid-dreams-boards-cannes-acid-title-rewind-barcelona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/13900\/","title":{"rendered":"Celluloid Dreams Boards Cannes ACID Title \u2018Rewind Barcelona\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/celluloid-dreams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_celluloid-dreams\" data-tag=\"celluloid-dreams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Celluloid Dreams<\/a> has taken international sales rights for French director Paul Nouhet\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/rewind-barcelona\/\" id=\"auto-tag_rewind-barcelona\" data-tag=\"rewind-barcelona\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rewind Barcelona<\/a> (Bar\u00e7a Zou) ahead of its world premiere in <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/cannes\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cannes\" data-tag=\"cannes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cannes<\/a> parallel section <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/acid\/\" id=\"auto-tag_acid\" data-tag=\"acid\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ACID<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film follows a trip to Barcelona, the mecca of skateboarding, by four friends on their first independent trip to together as they turn 18. \u00a0A decade later, they reunite and reminisce about the holiday which helped shaped them and their friendships today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRewind Barcelona grew out of Nouhet\u2019s 2023 medium-length autobiographical work Salut Les Zins, in which he revisited his adolescence as an avid skateboarder in Bordeaux.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNouhet and his real-life friends Emile Pierre, Edouard Hasco\u00ebt and L\u00e9o Cholet appeared as themselves with actors playing them as 13-year-olds. They return for the new feature which reconstructs real memories with fictionalized segments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI started writing Rewind Barcelona with \u00c9mile, as shown in the film: by calling our friends Hasco\u00ebt and L\u00e9o to chat about our trip to Barcelona ten years ago,\u201d explains the director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cBut we quickly realized that we didn\u2019t remember everything that well, or rather, we remembered details that weren\u2019t necessarily part of what had happened there\u2026 it was from there that \u00c9mile and I filled in the gaps, injecting fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt is produced by Doroth\u00e9e Levesque under the banner of Les Films du Sursaut.<\/p>\n<p>Celluloid Dreams Head of Sales and Acquisition Saliha\u00a0Guemraoui, who picked up the baton of leading the company following the death of its founder Hengameh Panahi in 2023, says the film clicked with the label\u2019s auteur focus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cRewind Barcelona is a vibrant and deeply embodied portrait that captures with great sensitivity that fragile threshold between adolescence and adulthood. Through a free and fluid approach to storytelling, blending documentary immediacy with a strong formal sensibility, Paul Nouhet conveys the fleeting nature of youth with remarkable authenticity,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe are particularly drawn to this raw cinematic voice, capable of transforming everyday fragments into a powerful reflection on identity and belonging, in a way that strongly resonates with the editorial line of Celluloid Dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRewind Barcelona is among nine films <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/04\/cannes-parallel-section-acid-2026-lineup-1236860003\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1236860003\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">being showcased in the ACID section this year<\/a>, which previously championed the early works of Justine Triet, Kaouther Ben Hania and Radu Jude.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cMore than just a feature about skateboarding and friendship, Rewind Barcelona lingers on the anecdotal, mundane memories of youth that grow in significance as time goes by.
