Summer’s greatest pleasure is unwinding on a breath-taking beach<\/a> with waves gently rolling onto the shore, seagulls crying above, and sunshine beaming down. If that’s your ideal scenario, finding the right coastal spot is essential.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, fresh research has just evaluated some of Europe’s<\/a> finest beaches to identify the ultimate summer getaway destination. The analysis, carried out by airport transfer firm hoppa<\/a>, examined numerous sought-after holiday locations.<\/a><\/p>\n

Each destination was assessed based on average three-star accommodation prices, journey time from airport to coastline, and Google ratings to determine the cream of the crop. Topping the list as the premier beach for summer 2026 is Praia da Fal\u00e9sia in Portugal.<\/p>\n

Situated in the beloved Algarve area, this coastal gem offers an absolutely stunning day out. The white sand extends over 8km, protected by striking orange and white cliffs.<\/p>\n

Beach-goers describe it as amongst the region’s finest, with one visitor commenting on Tripadvisor: “The blend of the colours of the golden sand, the crystal blue sea and the imposing cliffs make it one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal.”<\/p>\n

Another remarked: “A wide expanse of golden and red sand, nice rock formations in the background and the waves here are gentle, perfect for swimming.<\/p>\n

“It’s a popular beach, but due to its size, it’s a big, long beach; it never seems crowded even in high season. It’s a beach to most definitely check out if you’re planning a holiday to Albufeira.”<\/p>\n

Lifeguards are on hand to keep swimmers safe, and sun loungers are available to hire for those seeking a leisurely afternoon. Suitable for both families and couples, the beach’s generous size means it seldom feels overcrowded.<\/p>\n
