Jamie O\u2019Hara has urged Arsenal<\/a> to consider selling Martin Odegaard<\/a> in the summer transfer window after his performance against Atletico Madrid<\/a> in the Champions League this week.<\/p>\n

Odegaard has struggled with injuries this season and has started just 19 games across the Premier League<\/a> and the Champions League.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old was substituted just before the hour mark in the draw with Atletico Madrid, and there are concerns in Norway that the midfielder is still hampered by a knee problem<\/a> which has forced him to miss a significant part of Arsenal\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n

However, O\u2019Hara has questioned whether Odegaard can remain Arsenal\u2019s captain and believes Mikel Arteta<\/a> may need to sign a new creative midfielder in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

\u2018Last season he wasn\u2019t great either,\u2019 O\u2019Hara told talkSPORT.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s been terrible this season, getting dragged in the Champions League<\/a> semi-final when you\u2019re the captain is never a good look.<\/p>\n

\u2018I do believe that Arsenal maybe are growing away from Odegaard. Maybe they\u2019ve got to look at a player who can come in and be that talisman.<\/p>\n

\u2018When Eze came on tonight, he kept getting caught in possession. He\u2019s done a couple of good things, but is he the world star in the number 10 role for Arsenal? I\u2019m not sure.<\/p>\n

\u2018But Odegaard needs to up his game. He needs to buck his ideas up because he will end up falling down a pecking order. I don\u2019t think he can be the captain anymore.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Jason Cundy believes Declan Rice<\/a> will become Arsenal\u2019s next captain if Odegaard leave the club.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s never going to catch the eye in terms of doing step-overs and pinging one in top bins, running 30 yards. He ain\u2019t that player. What he is, defensively, he\u2019s a monster,\u2019 Cundy said.<\/p>\n

\u2018When he goes forward, he carries the team. He\u2019s brilliant in control. I think he will be England\u2019s next captain and I think it\u2019ll be Arsenal\u2019s next captain.\u2019<\/p>\n
