Classy, with tidy dimensions, yet oozing with luxury and style \u2026 what\u2019s not to like? I\u2019m not sure when I really started zeroing in on these cars and appreciating them, but I think it may have been the classic Quentin Tarantino film Jackie Brown. I remember seeing Robert Forster\u2019s Innsbruck Blue \u201976 Seville and thinking, \u201cNice car!\u201d It so fit his character\u2019s personality, too. (That movie also made me love the Delfonics, but I\u2019ll try to stay on topic today.)<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173258-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville front three quarter\" class=\"wp-image-550962\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The Seville made its debut in 1976 as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/automotive-history\/did-elvis-pay-44349-for-this-cadillac-seville\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an ultra-luxurious, smaller Cadillac<\/a>. It was basically fully equipped, with standard features that were optional on even Fleetwood Broughams, generally considered the top \u201cowner-driven\u201d Cadillac.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250908_102129.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville interior\" class=\"wp-image-550973\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Sales were quite good considering its price, and 43,772 were sold in 1976. For 1977, Sevilles received several changes both visually and mechanically, but overall the look was the same. The most noticeable new change for \u201977 was a new grille with vertical bars and a chrome header, replacing the lower, eggcrate-style version of the \u201976.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173318.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville side\" class=\"wp-image-550956\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Other new features included amber parking and turn signal lamps, an available \u201cslick top\u201d with no vinyl roof covering (a no-charge option), and four-wheel disc brakes, replacing the \u201976\u2019s front disc\/rear drum setup. As the 1977 Seville brochure extolled, \u201cSeville is a unique American luxury car. International in size. Timeless in styling. Engineered to be one of the finest production cars built anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173344.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville tailight\" class=\"wp-image-550960\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeville represents a new dimension in luxury car driving. For impressive maneuverability and easier parking, Seville is about 18 inches shorter than the full-size Cadillacs. Yet Seville is designed for interior roominess and comfort.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250908_102133.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville interior rear seat\" class=\"wp-image-550974\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt might just be the best performing luxury car you\u2019ve ever driven.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>As in 1976, a fuel-injected 350-cubic-inch V-8 remained under the hood, backed by the indestructible Turbo Hydra-matic automatic transmission.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173342.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville rear\" class=\"wp-image-550959\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Dover cloth was standard, and available in a selection of colors that would boggle the mind of folks contemplating choices on supposed \u201cluxury\u201d vehicles of the 2026 model year. Interior choices in 1977 included Claret, Black, Light Gray, Dark Blue, Medium Sage Green, Light Yellow-Gold, Light Buckskin, and Medium Saffron. A White interior was also available in leather only.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173431.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville side mirror\" class=\"wp-image-550952\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>And that was just the interiors. Today\u2019s featured Seville is a bit drab, in your author\u2019s opinion, in Georgian Silver with black leather and a black vinyl roof. But Bill Mitchell\u2019s \u2018sheer\u2019 styling still makes for a handsome car.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1977-01.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville color pallete\" class=\"wp-image-550976\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>I think of all the amazing leather and fabric colors available that year, and think, \u201cWell, someone wanted a subtle color, I guess!\u201d The silver would have really popped with a red, dark blue, or white interior, though.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173324.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville grille\" class=\"wp-image-550957\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Five optional Firemist colors were Desert Rose, Cerulean Blue, Thyme Green, Buckskin, Frost Orange, and Damson Plum. I\u2019ve previously written up a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/opinion\/nothing-succeeds-like-the-1977-eldorados-excess\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201977 Eldorado Biarritz in Frost Orange<\/a>, and saw a Buckskin Firemist \u201977 Eldo at the Cadillac and La Salle Club Grand National in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173303.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville front\" class=\"wp-image-550963\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>No matter what color combination you chose, the \u201977 Seville retailed for $13,359. Among other new features for the year was a scan button on the radio, allowing a six-second preview of a station before moving on to the next one on the band.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250828_173336.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville rear three quarter\" class=\"wp-image-550958\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Curb weight was 4192 pounds. Overall length was 204 inches even, with a 114.3-inch wheelbase. 45,060 were built. All Sevilles featured an Ashton cloth headliner, which was only shared with the Fleetwood Limousines.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250908_102138-1.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville interior\" class=\"wp-image-550975\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>However, a different material was installed if Sevilles were ordered with the white Sierra grain leather interior. This interesting tidbit was found in the Cadillac and La Salle Club\u2019s recent book on 1970\u201379 Cadillacs, which I am slowly parsing through. It\u2019s a great reference, full of interesting info for Cadillac nuts like your author.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20250908_102147-scaled-e1766350750986-1024x752.jpg\" alt=\"1977 Cadillac Seville front three quarter\" class=\"wp-image-550970\"   data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagerty.com\/media\/author\/tklockau\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Klockau<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Our featured car was spotted at an undisclosed location while I was driving home from the office one evening. I later went back when my friend Jayson Coombes was visiting, and we both took multiple photos of this survivor. Not sure what its story is, but it was pretty well preserved. Too bad it wasn\u2019t in a Klockau Lust-Worthy color combo, like navy blue, burgundy, or green.
