{"id":17080,"date":"2026-05-05T07:37:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T07:37:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/17080\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T07:37:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T07:37:11","slug":"santander-raises-stake-to-55-as-ebury-secures-550m-funding-round-fintech-schweiz-digital-finance-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/17080\/","title":{"rendered":"Santander Raises Stake to 55% as Ebury Secures \u00a3550M Funding Round &#8211; Fintech Schweiz Digital Finance News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Free Newsletter<\/p>\n<p>Get the hottest Fintech Switzerland News once a month in your Inbox<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fintechnews.ch\/tag\/santander\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Santander<\/a> has agreed to participate in funding rounds totalling approximately \u00a3550 million for <a href=\"https:\/\/fintechnews.ch\/tag\/ebury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ebury<\/a>, its cross-border payments and international trade platform.<\/p>\n<p>Centerbridge Partners is leading the investment alongside existing backers Santander, Vitruvian Partners and 83North.<\/p>\n<p>Santander will invest \u00a350 million and retain a 55% majority stake.<\/p>\n<p>The parties will execute the transactions in two stages, subject to regulatory approval.<\/p>\n<p>Ebury operates in 30 regulated markets and serves over 27,000 businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Its platform enables payments in more than 140 currencies across 160 countries. It also allows clients to manage foreign exchange risk, transfer funds between subsidiaries in real time, and integrate with financial systems.<\/p>\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/fintechnews.ch\/london\/santander-invests-350-million-in-an-fx-facilitator-for-sme\/31448\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Santander invested in 2020<\/a>, Ebury has grown its revenue by more than 30% annually.<\/p>\n<p>The company will use the proceeds to expand geographically and develop new products.<\/p>\n<p>It also plans to strengthen its AI capabilities to improve payment processing, optimise foreign exchange services and enhance the client experience.<\/p>\n<p>Ana Bot\u00edn, Executive Chair of Banco Santander, said:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fintechnews.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Ana-Boti\u0301n.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-34596 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Ana-Boti\u0301n-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"Ana Bot\u00edn\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"  \/><\/a>Ana Bot\u00edn<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese transactions support both Ebury\u2019s continued growth and Santander\u2019s focus on disciplined capital allocation and value creation.
