The deal includes Union Martin Group&#8217;s operations in Las Palmas and <a href=\"https:\/\/app.indexbox.io\/companies\/profile\/3005765\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Silomar<\/a>&#8216;s operations in Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>Union Martin Group had previously acquired Silomar in 2022, which brought with it a processing plant and cold-storage facilities spanning 19,000 square meters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indexbox.io\/store\/branch\/fishing_and_aquaculture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Profand&#8217;s President and CEO Enrique Garcia<\/a> stated that the transaction reflects the company&#8217;s goal to continue growing in an orderly manner while strengthening its industrial capacity and presence in strategic markets, including the Canary Islands. He added that the incorporation of Union Martin aligns with the company&#8217;s roadmap and helps build a leading project in the fish business with a commitment to investment and long-term value creation.<\/p>\n<p>Profand said the acquisition bolsters its presence in both mainland Spain and the Canary Islands, located off the coast of Northwest Africa. The firm has a vision of further developing the Canary Islands market for its products.<\/p>\n<p>Alantra originally purchased Union Martin Group in April 2018 and retained the company&#8217;s management team after the transaction closed. Shortly afterward, Union Martin acquired a significant stake in Mauritanian fishing company Societe Mauritanienne pour la Peche Industrielle, expanding its fishing fleet. In 2025, Union Martin also completed construction of a cold-storage facility designed to preserve sashimi-grade tuna.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition arrives shortly after Profand disclosed its FY 2025 results, which showed increases in revenue and EBITDA driven by operational efficiencies and cost optimization in its business.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t1.
