Brian Windhorst isn\u2019t so sure Luka Doncic traveled to Spain last month<\/a> to get treatment on his ailing hamstring.<\/p>\n

While appearing on \u201cThe Rich Eisen Show\u201d this week, the ESPN NBA insider said he believed Doncic went overseas for more personal matters than work ones.<\/p>\n

Brian Windhorst suggests Luka Doncic went to Spain for other reasons besides treatment on his hamstring<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a big actions over words guy,\u201d Windhorst said. \u201cWhen Luka got hurt, Luka went to Spain for \u2018treatment.\u2019 Have you ever heard of someone \u2014 I mean, I\u2019ve heard of going to Germany. I\u2019ve never heard of going to Spain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Windhorst implied that the Lakers simply let the Slovenian native return to Europe for a mini-vacation, knowing that his injured leg needed multiple weeks to heal.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuka also has a newborn who is Slovenia,\u201d Windhorst said. \u201cAnd so I certainly think if he had an opportunity to go and get some time off, go to Slovenia and see your newborn child. He lives in Madrid in the offseason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doncic sustained a Grade 2 hamstring strain on April 2, and days later, he was spotted in Spain signing autographs<\/a> and taking in a basketball game with Novak Djokovic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Multiple reports indicated he was there almost exclusively to get special treatment on his wounded leg, and following Windhorst\u2019s comments on Tuesday, Slovenian basketball analyst Matej Petek was adamant that\u2019s precisely why Doncic hopped on a plane.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuka doesn\u2019t live in Madrid in the offseason and Spain is well known for their stem cell\/PRP treatments,\u201d Petek wrote on X<\/a>. \u201cWindhorst is completely wrong here. Not the first time for him when it comes to Luka.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doncic has not played since suffering the injury, though he has at least resumed light workouts. He missed the Lakers\u2019 Tuesday night loss to the Thunder, and he\u2019s expected to miss at least one more game of the series.<\/p>\n
