Barça continue piling up reasons to celebrate, this time with a 5-0 Liga win over Levante despite heavy rotation. The younger players once again stepped up, while Claudia Pina struck twice to reach 100 goals for the first team and rediscover her scoring touch ahead of the most demanding and exciting weeks of the season.

Party and changes

Before kick-off, there was a celebratory atmosphere as the Liga titles won by Barça B, Barça C and the U19 side were paraded, while Levante gave the champions a guard of honour. With the physical toll of last Sunday’s Champions League clash and the league title already wrapped up, Pere Romeu rotated heavily, with only Clara Serrajordi and goalkeeper Cata Coll keeping their places.

Despite the changes, Barça quickly took control. Against a compact Levante side, Vicky López broke the deadlock with a stunning long-range effort after 15 minutes, while Claudia Pina also hit the woodwork from a free-kick.

Pina reaches 100

Pina, Liga F’s top scorer, was determined to add to her tally and did so in style before the break. A long pass from Kika allowed her to produce a sublime first touch and finish across goal for her 19th strike of the league season.

After half-time, the introductions of Salma Paralluelo and Aitana brought fresh energy, and Pina soon grabbed her second of the night after good work from Paralluelo. It was a landmark goal: her 100th for the Barça first team and her 20th in Liga F this season.

Carla Julià and Sydney add to the fun

With the match settled, Adriana Ranera nearly marked her first-team breakthrough with a spectacular hit that hit the post. Another youngster, Carla Julià, did find the net with a fine header from full-back to make it 4-0 and score her sixth league goal of the campaign.

The celebrations continued with the introductions of Alexia, Pajor and Brugts, although Barça had to play the final 15 minutes with ten players after Aïcha Camara went off injured and no substitutions remained. Even so, Sydney capped the night with a precise strike from the edge of the box to seal another emphatic victory.

At full-time, the Liga trophy was officially presented by the Spanish Football Federation before the celebrations continued with the fans at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

            Previous

            Chevron pointing left

            Next

            Chevron SVG pointing right

MATCH STATS

Barça: 5
Levante: 0

Barça: Cata Coll; Aicha, Marta, Ranera, Carla Julià; Serrajordi (Aitana 46′), Sydney, Kika (Alexia 71′); Vicky (Pajor 71′), Fenger (Paralluelo 46′) & Pina (Brugts 71′).

Levante: Anna Álvarez; Le Guilly, Mérida, Alonso (Gabaldón 52′), Velasco (Luque 80′); Alharilla (Ali 52′), Jacome, Soliveres, Carrasco; Arias (Rizo 63′) & Gonzi (Marín 52′).

Goals: 1-0, Vicky (min. 15); 2-0, Pina (min. 34); 3-0, Pina (min. 50); 4-0, Carla Julià (min. 65); 5-0, Sydney (min. 87)

Referee: Raquel Suárez.
