<\/p>\nThe memorandum of understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation in defense technologies between Turkish company Sars\u0131lmaz and Spain-based EM&E Group was signed during a ceremony held at SAHA 2026 defense fair, the firm said Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The memorandum establishes a new foundation for cooperation in the Turkish and Spanish defense industries as it carries strategic importance in terms of system integration, joint production, technology sharing, and value-added export goals, according to the statement by Sars\u0131lmaz.<\/p>\n
Through this cooperation, the integration of Sars\u0131lmaz’s machine guns and TR Mekatronik\u2019s 25-30 mm cannon systems with EM&E Group\u2019s remote-controlled weapon systems is targeted, along with joint production, technology sharing and value-added exports to international markets, the company said in a post on the social media platform X.<\/p>\n
The agreement, which aims to use both parties\u2019 existing capabilities in a complementary manner, will not be limited to just system integration. In later stages, the cooperation is planned to expand to include joint production and joint development activities, Sars\u0131lmaz also said.<\/p>\n
In this context, the collaboration will constitute a strong complementarity of technology and market opportunities for both companies, while also contributing to the deepening of relations between T\u00fcrkiye and Spain in the field of the defense industry.<\/p>\n
The global position and export experience of both companies lay the groundwork for this cooperation to create new opportunities on a global scale.<\/p>\n
Sars\u0131lmaz Foreign Trade General Manager Nuri K\u0131z\u0131ltan said that the agreement provides a strategic basis for cooperation both for the companies and the countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not see this MoU signed with EM&E Group as merely a technical cooperation between two companies. This agreement is an important step in bringing together complementary capabilities between the Turkish and Spanish defense industry ecosystems,” he said.<\/p>\n
“This cooperation is important for our country in terms of increasing the potential for value-added exports, opening the door to technology-oriented joint development processes, and further strengthening the position of the Turkish defense industry on a global scale.”<\/p>\n
EM&E Group Vice President in Charge of Global Sales, M. Jocxan Bojorquez, said: “This strategic cooperation we have implemented with Sars\u0131lmaz reinforces our commitment to delivering competitive and highly efficient defense systems in the international market. “<\/p>\n
“The integration of both companies\u2019 capabilities demonstrates just how critical industrial collaboration is in the development of advanced technology defense systems that will strengthen the defense industry infrastructures of both countries through technology sharing and joint production.”<\/p>\n
