Robert Lewandowski is currently facing uncertainty over his future at FC Barcelona. <\/p>\n

The Polish forward is aware that president-elect Joan Laporta wants to assess the possibility of extending his stay by another year. <\/p>\n

At the same time, the 37-year-old veteran also knows that any offer from the Catalan club would involve a significant reduction in his current salary, as well as a more secondary role within the team.<\/p>\n

Chicago Fire step up Lewandowski pursuit<\/p>\n

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo<\/a>, Chicago Fire are pushing strongly to secure Lewandowski\u2019s signing for next season. <\/p>\n

The MLS side are not alone in the race: clubs such as AC Milan and Juventus have also made moves, while offers from Saudi Arabia remain on the table.<\/p>\n

However, the proposal from the USA stands out because of its financial power. The figures being discussed could reach \u20ac15 million gross per season, plus a further \u20ac5 million in bonuses, rising to \u20ac20 million.<\/p>\n

Against this backdrop, the player\u2019s agent, Pini Zahavi, is currently in Barcelona. After meeting Laporta<\/a>, he is expected to hold talks with Lewandowski himself and later with Hansi Flick, as well as sporting director Deco. <\/p>\n

The final decision regarding the Poland captain\u2019s future will depend heavily on the sporting assessment made by the German coach<\/a> and the role he has planned for the veteran.<\/p>\n
