A STRONG swimmer sadly drowned after encountering difficulties in the sea on holiday in Spain.<\/p>\n
A coroner has concluded an inquest into the death of John Harrison, which resumed at Warrington Coroner\u2019s Court.<\/p>\n
The Moore resident, a married man who worked as a managing director, sadly died on Tuesday, October 7, last year in Malaga.<\/p>\n
His inquest was concluded in written form and read into the record at Warrington Coroner\u2019s Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The court heard that, on October 7, while on a family holiday, Mr Harrison entered the Mediterranean Sea and waved at his family.<\/p>\n
The court heard that he was a \u2018strong and regular\u2019 swimmer; however, after five minutes, he encountered difficulties.<\/p>\n
It was heard that he became caught up in an undercurrent of high waves off the Costa del Sol.<\/p>\n
His family tried to rescue him and alerted a lifeguard, with Mr Harrison taken back to the beach.<\/p>\n
Despite resuscitation attempts, he was sadly pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n
The court heard that the medical cause of death was provided as drowning, and the conclusion reached by the coroner was that the death was accidental.<\/p>\n
Jacqueline Devonish, senior coroner for Cheshire, said: \u201cThat brings the inquest process to a conclusion.<\/p>\n
