Others are won through unshakeable belief. This is the story of Barça, La Liga Champions for 2025/26. Hansi Flick’s side faced a season in which they had to prove that the success of the previous season was not just down to a new coach bump.

Five points behind after the Clásico in Madrid

The start of the campaign was far from easy. Although only two points were dropped in the first seven game, at Vallecas in the draw against Rayo, doubts began to surface after a heavy 4-1 defeat against Sevilla and the 2-1 loss in the first Clásico of the season at the Bernabéu. A Barça side missing the likes of Gavi, Olmo, Raphinha, Lewandowski and new signing in goal Joan Garcia looked to be on the back foot.

Despite the setbacks, Barça emerged from what would later prove to be the lowest point of the entire league season. In second place, five points behind their biggest rivals, Real Madrid, the blaugranes remained confident and after a run of just three points in five matches, Xabi Alonso’s team ceded top spot to a Barça side who went on a run of nine straight wins. Now, after the Clásico win in the second half of the season, in the first game against Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou in more than three years, the blaugranes are league champions.

Faithful to the Style

Barça coming back from behind was a motif for the team in the 2025/26 season. As well as overhauling Real Madrid in the table, they managed to come from behind to win on nine occasions, conceding first in six of those matches.

This is neither coincidence nor a statistical fluke. It is the embodiment of a team that never abandons its style, even when the game seems to be slipping away. Last season saw five comebacks worth 15 points saved, but this year, Barça went even further. Even in the most difficult moments, the team kept attacking, pressing high, and searching for the win.

La Masia: Always La Masia

That greatness lies in trusting youth. Once again, La Masia played an important role. Plenty of youth team players were already key, but this season more emerged such as Jofre Torrents, Xavi Espart, Tommy and Toni Fernández.

Three of the players most used by Hansi Flick were also La Masia products: Eric, Cubarsí, and Lamine Yamal. Gerard Martín came on in leaps and bounds and Gavi and Marc Bernal showed great character to return after serious injury setbacks.

The stats tell the story

And those numbers say Barça are the league’s most potent attacking team, scoring 91 goals. Yet one of the few changes from one season to the next has been the man between the posts. Because beyond the attack, Joan Garcia has turned Barça’s goal into an almost impenetrable fortress. The Sallent-born goalkeeper, in his first season as a blaugrana, leads the race for the Zamora Trophy, proving that his signing was—and remains—a masterstroke.

In the end, this Barça side will not be remembered only for points, goals, or the final table. It will be remembered for its ability to rise again. For competing when circumstances were against them. For continuing to believe when doubts grew. And above all, for proving that the best way to win is to do so without ever renouncing your own identity. La Liga 2025/26 is Blaugrana.

There are league titles that are won through unquestionable superiority from the very start.
