How many times have you been invited to a match or a game only to realize you don\u2019t have anything vaguely athletic that you can style appropriately for the occasion? I have two words for you: El Cl\u00e1sico. Okay, wait, actually I have two more: Olivia Rodrigo<\/a>. So that\u2019s four words, and I\u2019m sure you hadn\u2019t thought to put them all together before, but Spotify did. The music-streaming platform has partnered with a handful of artists in the past few years to participate in a soccer-jersey takeover \u2014 Karol G, Coldplay, and Rosal\u00eda<\/a> have all done it before \u2014 at the annual match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid (they\u2019re serious rivals, in case you didn\u2019t know). As of May 2026, Olivia Rodrigo is the latest artist to join the club.<\/p>\n Rodrigo is one of the most-streamed pop artists in the world, and when you consider the recent explosion in the crossover between sports, music, and fashion, it becomes even more clear how big of a deal it is for her official logo to appear on the official FC Barcelona jersey worn by players during the El Cl\u00e1sico match and on the pitch. Mix in the fact that Rodrigo is one of the elite few artists in Spotify\u2019s \u201cBillions Club\u201d (she has nine songs with over a billion streams), and you\u2019ve got a pretty delicious pop-culture recipe. At her Spotify Billions Club Live performance in Barcelona on May 8, which her top fans in the country were invited to attend, the audience was fully rapt seeing Rodrigo onstage. There were screams. There were tears. But if you\u2019re in it for the Olivia of it all, I will tell you to consider that the World Cup is coming up this year, and if you happen to find yourself going to either a match or a watch party, you might want to wear something a little sporty. That doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s for bandwagoners; I\u2019m just saying it\u2019s the right piece for someone who\u2019s tapped into pop culture but maybe doesn\u2019t know much about soccer \u2014 sorry, football \u2014 and doesn\u2019t want to risk looking off-theme at a sporting event. Those who love limited-edition kits and collectibles will naturally love it, but it\u2019s also a unique way to express your standom for Rodrigo if you aren\u2019t able to go to her concert and get merch there too. It\u2019s for the girls who love \u201cDrop Dead\u201d<\/a> but maybe don\u2019t want to wear babydoll dresses<\/a> like Rodrigo herself.<\/p>\n And if the jersey is too much for you, you might be interested in the Olivia Rodrigo x Nike FC Barcelona hoodie<\/a> or T-shirt embossed with\u00a0\u201cFor\u00e7a Bar\u00e7a\u201d \u2014 a Catalan phrase you can hear and see all over the city of Barcelona \u2014 in Rodrigo\u2019s new font, which is reminiscent of the logo for early-2000s mall brands like Justice and Delia*s. It\u2019s also sold on Rodrigo\u2019s official merch site<\/a>.<\/p>\n Well, FC Barcelona fans have been waiting all year to watch their home team defeat Real Madrid 2-0 like they did on May 10. Olivia Rodrigo fans have been waiting for her new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, to come out June 12 (just a day after the World Cup officially begins). Of course, the Olivia stans are rushing to get the jerseys \u2014 but based on what I saw at the El Cl\u00e1sico match in Barcelona, which Rodrigo also attended, the football fans were pretty into it too.
