To achieve this, companies and distribution professionals join associations that act as intermediaries with public authorities, promote industry collaboration, encourage training and best practices, and help improve society’s financial literacy. These organizations also support research, promote innovation, and position insurance as an ally in the transition towards a more sustainable model.

Together, these functions allow the sector to advance in a coordinated manner and for insurance companies, intermediaries, and other actors to share knowledge and resources.

Main associations of insurance companies

Spain: UNESPA

The Spanish Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UNESPA) represents insurance companies in Spain. Its work focuses on conveying to society the value of insurance as a source of certainty and as a key driver of economic and social progress.

Latin America: FIDES and CNseg

In Latin America, the Inter-American Federation of Insurance Companies (FIDES) brings together entities from 19 countries in the region, as well as the United States and Spain. Its objective is to promote the development of insurance and reinsurance, highlighting its contribution to economic growth and social well-being.

In Brazil, the National Confederation of Insurance Companies (CNseg) represents one of the most important insurance markets on the continent. It acts as a contact point with the authorities, drives innovation, and promotes insurance as a tool for protection and financial inclusion.

Europe: Insurance Europe

Insurance Europe represents insurance and reinsurance companies before the institutions of the European Union. Its mission is to promote a competitive and efficient market that benefits the consumer and reinforces the system’s stability.

Global: GFIA and the Geneva Association

The Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA) facilitates dialogue between associations worldwide and contributes to improving the effectiveness of the sector on an international scale.

The Geneva Association, made up of the main global insurance groups—including Mapfre—acts as a leading think tank. It analyzes strategic trends such as climate change, longevity, digitalization, cybersecurity, and economic resilience, providing key research to anticipate emerging risks.

Associations of insurance intermediaries

Intermediaries play a fundamental role in insurance distribution and in customer service. In Spain, the Business Association of Insurance Intermediaries (AEMES) promotes continuous training and the professionalization of the sector. Alongside it, organizations such as APROMES, ADECOSE, and AUNNA represent brokers and brokerages, act as their voice before institutions, and offer support and advisory services.

In Latin America, the Pan-American Confederation of Insurance Producers (COPAPROSE) promotes the professionalization of mediation. At the national level, associations such as AMASFAC in Mexico, ACOAS in Colombia, or APECOSE in Peru stand out, all aimed at consolidating more competitive insurance markets.

In Europe, BIPAR coordinates the representation of insurance and financial intermediaries, while the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries (WFII) defends the interests of the sector internationally.

Other key organizations in the insurance industry

There are companies with specific functions that contribute to the proper functioning of the insurance system. ICEA (Cooperative Research between Insurance Companies and Pension Funds) produces essential statistics, studies, and technical reports for the analysis of the sector.

Their work makes it possible to coordinate efforts, anticipate risks, and respond jointly to challenges such as sustainability,…

[126
167
0":"post-22682","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mapfre","8":"tag-mapfre
["GET
