Olivier Godement, Global Head of the Platform at OpenAI, explained how the bank has been testing the functionalities of the new model, which has enabled it to complete highly strategic tasks in just a few hours\u2014tasks that typically require two to three weeks of work.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/es-ES\/index\/gpt-5-new-era-of-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the company\u2019s website<\/a>, GPT-5 surpasses OpenAI\u2019s previous advances in advanced intelligence, including 4o, the OpenAI reasoning series, agents, and advanced mathematical capabilities. The model represents improvements in accuracy, speed, reasoning, contextual understanding, structured thinking, and problem-solving.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGPT-5 marks a significant leap forward for us at BBVA, not only in how our people interact with AI thanks to deeper responses that are more useful, but also in advancing our aspirations toward multi-step agent automation,\u201d said Elena Alfaro, BBVA\u2019s Global Head of AI Adoption, in the press release. \u201cThe new model is demonstrating great potential, especially in writing code and handling technical tasks.\u201d Alfaro also highlighted its ability to handle the Spanish language\u2014a major milestone in a context where language models are typically trained primarily in English.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between BBVA and OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.com\/en\/innovation\/bbva-steps-up-its-plans-in-artificial-intelligence-by-signing-an-agreement-with-openai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">began in May 2024<\/a>, and since then, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbva.com\/en\/innovation\/bbva-expands-its-agreement-with-openai-to-11000-chatgpt-licences-for-the-banks-employees\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">11,000 licenses have been deployed across the Group<\/a>. The bank aims to harness the potential of generative AI to accelerate processes, improve productivity, and foster innovation in a safe and responsible manner.
