{"id":26780,"date":"2026-05-20T11:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T11:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/26780\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T11:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T11:30:08","slug":"airbus-to-open-a330-mrtt-conversion-center-in-seville-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/26780\/","title":{"rendered":"Airbus to Open A330 MRTT Conversion Center \u0130n Seville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Airbus Defence and Space will open an A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport<br \/>\n(MRTT) conversion center at its San Pablo plant in Seville, Spain, by the end<br \/>\nof 2027 to meet the increase in global demand for tanker aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>This new center, alongside Airbus&#8217; existing facility at its Getafe site<br \/>\nin Madrid, will enable the annual conversion of civil aircraft to military<br \/>\nversions to increase from five to seven. Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO)<br \/>\nwork will also be carried out in the new center in Seville, as well as the<br \/>\nupgrading of A330 MRTTs already in service.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779266379364-A330_MRTT_Conversion_Center_Airbus_Getafe_site_GET_CORP_VO_20250227_photos_from_drone-.jpeg\" alt=\"A330 MRTT Conversion Center Airbus Getafe site_GET_CORP_VO_20250227_photos_from_drone-17.jpg\" style=\"max-width:100%; height:auto; border-radius:8px; display:block; margin:0 auto;\"\/>L<\/p>\n<p>The choice of Seville is a strategic decision as it meets all the<br \/>\ncritical requirements for the military conversion of aircraft as complex as the<br \/>\nA330. Seville combines advanced technical knowledge with world-class<br \/>\ninfrastructure, thanks to the A400M and C295 Final Assembly Lines, an<br \/>\nindustrial ecosystem that is the result of years of experience and key<br \/>\nlogistical and operational proximity to Getafe.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the project, the existing infrastructure at San Pablo will be<br \/>\nmodernized to maximize its operational capacity and equip it with the necessary<br \/>\ntechnology for the conversion processes.
