It follows the team\u2019s evolution from its early years to the club turning professional in 2015 and its ascent as a three-time UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League champion as it battled European archrival Olympique de Lyon in four unforgettable finals. Through candid interviews and intimate access,\u00a0FC Barcelona: So\u00f1ar, jugar y ganar\u00a0captures the sacrifices, setbacks and triumphs that helped define the club\u2019s spirit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Freddy Rol\u00f3n, Head of Global Sports &amp; Talent at ESPN, said in a statement regarding the new documentary:<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>\u201cThe ascent of FC Barcelona has stirred a cultural movement, inspiring a new generation of fans.\u00a0 As ESPN continues to expand its global futbol storytelling efforts, this documentary offers a unique opportunity to go beyond the pitch and showcase the journey of a team that has become a symbol of excellence in women\u2019s sports.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>David Quintana, CEO of Wakai, added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis documentary reflects more than two years of work by the Wakai team, driven by our passion for discovering and telling stories that transcend sport.\u00a0 Developing this project alongside a partner like ESPN and Disney not only gives us an incredible opportunity but also allows audiences around the world to experience a story, and a team, as special as this one.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The documentary will premiere in the United States on Saturday, 23rd May 2026 at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and streaming on ESPN+. Internationally, it will be available on ESPN linear and on Disney+ in select markets, including the UK, beginning Friday, 22nd May 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The premiere arrives ahead of the UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League final, where FC Barcelona\u00a0will face Olympique Lyonnais\u00a0on Saturday, 23rd May 2026 at noon\u00a0ET on ESPN Deportes, at Ullev\u00e5l Stadion in Oslo, Norway.
