So, if you are off the beach and in town, keep your shirt on and don’t get shirty with the local police. You are not supposed to drink alcohol in public places and you will also be faced with a hefty fine if you decide to leap off your balcony into the swimming pool.

If you’re caught sporting beachwear away from the designated coastal zones and pools, you could be slapped with a massive penalty of up to 500 euros. The strict rule also targets anyone walking around town topless. Furthermore, a growing number of restaurants have put up firm signs explicitly banning customers from entering in swim gear.

Also, while there are beaches on which smoking is prohibited, don’t stuff your fag butts into the sand. Apart from damaging the environment, it is highly disrespectful for other sunbathers. The FCO states on its website: “In some parts of Spain it’s against the law to be in the street wearing only a bikini or swimming shorts. Being bare-chested is also illegal in some areas in Spain. You may be fined if you’re caught wearing swimwear on the seafront promenade or adjacent streets.

“For security reasons, some public authorities in Spain do not allow the burka or niqab to be worn in their buildings. If you visit town council buildings wearing a burka or niqab, you may be asked to remove it while inside.” Also, while the actual act of being shirtless while driving is not illegally specifically, Spanish law prohibits anything that prevents safe driving. Wearing inappropriate clothes or footwear is covered under this rule and if drivers are caught they could be hit with a 200 euro fine.

The FCO has also issued a warning about illegal commercial parties in villas and private homes.
There have been a number of serious accidents involving people attending illegal commercially promoted parties in villas and private homes on the islands of Ibiza and Mallorca.

Licensed clubs and bars have to meet safety and security standards, including emergency exits and capacity limits, and have trained, licensed security staff. Illegal commercial parties may not meet these standards. Take care of your belongings, make sure you know where emergency exits are and do not take unnecessary risks. You may get a fine for attending illegal commercially promoted parties.

[2
1254,8718,15402,1391,15401,15400,598,605,599,600,11430,17,603
post-31151","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-spain","tag-balearics","tag-beach","tag-bikini-law","tag-british-tourists","tag-dress-code","tag-fine","tag-holiday","tag-latest-headlines","tag-majorca","tag-mallorca","tag-smoking","tag-spain","tag-summer
["GET
