Elementos<\/a> (ASX:ELT) has appointed Antonio Mart\u00edn S\u00e1nchez as the company\u2019s General Manager for its Spain-based operations, effective 1 July 2026.<\/p>\n

S\u00e1nchez is a chemical engineer and experienced mining and metals executive with over 20 years of experience across mining, metallurgical, energy, and heavy industrial sectors. <\/p>\n

He will lead Elementos\u2019 in-country team to advance the company\u2019s vertical integration growth initiatives in both Spain and Europe.<\/p>\n

This will include the development of the Oropesa Tin Project in Andaluc\u00eda and the project\u2019s alignment with the Robledollano Tin Smelter, in which the company has a binding option to acquire a 50% interest stake.<\/p>\n

S\u00e1nchez has held senior operational and management roles across numerous \u201cglobal industry leaders\u201d, including his most recent role with Freeport McMoRan\u2019s Atlantic Copper operations in Spain.<\/p>\n

He also has vast experience delivering positive environmental outcomes for major projects, holding roles in environmental auditing and engineering across highly regulated heavy industries. <\/p>\n

He has contributed to delivering reduced emissions, energy efficiency, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting in previous roles, which Elementos says aligns with its commitment to responsible development and its ambition to establish a \u201cmodern, responsible, and reliable tin supply chain\u201d from Spain for Europe.<\/p>\n

Managing Director Joe David says the company is bringing S\u00e1nchez onboard at an \u201cimportant stage in the company\u2019s development\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis mining and metals experience, strong operational discipline, and valuable in-country knowledge, combined with his strong environmental governance background, makes him ideally suited to drive our Spanish asset portfolio,\u201d David says. <\/p>\n

S\u00e1nchez\u2019s key responsibilities for Elementos include the delivery of key corporate milestones, project development and readiness, final permitting, stakeholder engagement, and corporate governance across the company\u2019s Spanish project portfolio.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpain is central to our growth strategy, and Antonio\u2019s appointment further builds on our plan of attracting talented people to join our already experienced in-country team,\u201d David says.<\/p>\n

He adds that S\u00e1nchez will report directly to him in his role as Consejero Delegado (CEO) on the board of directors of the Elementos\u2019 Spanish subsidiary, Minas de Esta\u00f1o de Espa\u00f1a (MESPA)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe board welcomes Antonio to MESPA and looks forward to his contribution as we progress the growth of our vertically integrated tin operations.\u201d<\/p>\n

As reported<\/a> by Mining.com.au, Elementos was granted three new mineral exploration tenements through public tender by the Andalusian Government last week. The new tenure positions Elementos as the dominant landholder in the region.<\/p>\n

Elementos<\/a> is a tin and critical minerals development company focused on becoming a key supplier to global technology and electrification markets, with its flagship asset being the Oropesa Tin Project in Spain.<\/p>\n
