But the football club have also had a busy week, trying to finalise the deal to sign Ansu Fati.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to Fati, AS Monaco have also been <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/ligue-1-club-kickstart-negotiations-with-barcelona-midfielder-over-summer-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">linked with a move for another Barcelona star<\/a> in the form of Marc Casado.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Barcelona midfielder is not a part of Hansi Flick\u2019s plans for next season and is expected to leave the club in the coming summer.<\/p>\n<p>Monaco opt out of Casado race<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/real-madrid-cf-v-fc-barcelona-laliga-ea-sports-1-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Marc Casado of FC Barcelona\" class=\"wp-image-192805\"  \/>Casado is expected to leave Barcelona this summer. (Photo by Angel Martinez\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, a recent report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundodeportivo.com\/futbol\/fc-barcelona\/20260604\/1004191343\/monaco-no-puja-casado.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Mundo Deportivo<\/a> has offered a fresh update on the future of Casado, suggesting that Monaco are already out of the race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per the report, Casado was offered to various clubs by his agent Jorge Mendes, including Monaco.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it appears the Ligue 1 outfit have chosen not to enter the bidding for the young midfielder. (Photo by David Ramos\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Monaco opting out of the race to sign Casado this summer is a setback for Barcelona, who are hoping to sanction his exit as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the midfielder has no shortage of suitors, with the report mentioning that various Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are also interested in his services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Atletico Madrid, too, were interested in the Spaniard earlier in the year while the player has received offers from Saudi Arabia as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The onus is now on Casado to find a suitable outfit and carry on negotiations, as Bar\u00e7a wait to offload the La Masia product. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The city of Monaco is geared up for the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.
