{"id":36384,"date":"2026-06-07T18:10:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-07T18:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/36384\/"},"modified":"2026-06-07T18:10:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-07T18:10:08","slug":"pope-to-augustinians-in-spain-communion-and-unity-are-a-message-to-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/36384\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope to Augustinians in Spain: Communion and unity are a message to the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pope Leo XIV meets with over 200 Augustinian fathers and several members of the Augustinian family in Spain and emphasizes the importance of communion and unity of the heart, as it can send an important message to the world. <\/p>\n<p>Vatican News<\/p>\n<p>Pope Leo XIV met with approximately 220 Augustinian fathers from various communities and several members of the Augustinian family in Madrid on Sunday afternoon, June 7, before his last event of the day with representatives of the world of culture, art, economy and sport at the Movistar Arena.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the Provincial Superior\u2019s greeting, the Pope addressed those present with words of gratitude for the opportunity to meet, emphasizing how communion and unity of heart among Augustinians can serve as a message to the world at this moment in history,\u201d a statement released the Holy See Press Office on Sunday said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA message to be shared with young people, such as the 600,000 gathered in Plaza de Lima yesterday evening, who expressed their questions and their spiritual search,\u201d the statement continued, recalling the prayer vigil with young people that took place on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting with the Augustinians, Pope Leo noted the presence of contemplative sisters and highlighted \u201cthe value of their vocation, also in order to give meaning to social action, at a time when silence and humanity\u2019s ability to enter into one\u2019s own heart are being lost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pope then invited all those present to pray the Our Father together and imparted his blessing, before greeting them all individually.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Leo is currently in Madrid as the first leg of his Apostolic Journey to Spain from June 6 to June 12.
