The long-awaited meeting finally took place. As confirmed by the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV met with Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny and his family at the Santiago Bernab\u00e9u Stadium on Monday, June 8.<\/p>\n
For a few minutes, the pontiff and the Puerto Rican singer \u2014 whose real name is Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio and who has performed 10 concerts in the Spanish capital (one of which coincided with the pope\u02bcs Saturday vigil with young people in Madrid) \u2014 were able to greet each other and converse, taking advantage of the fact that both were in the city at the time.<\/p>\n
So far, no images of the meeting have emerged.<\/p>\n
The archbishop of Madrid, Cardinal Jos\u00e9 Cobo Cano, had previously spoken to EWTN News about the possibility of a meeting between the pope and the Puerto Rican musician, stating that \u201cthe pope is never closed to speaking with anyone who wishes to enter into dialogue with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf that were to happen at some point, we certainly wouldn\u02bct rule it out, but it depends on the two of them. What is true is that Madrid is a very large city and can host various events on the same day,\u201d the cardinal observed.<\/p>\n
