Pope Leo XIV received Bad Bunny<\/a> in a private meeting held in Madrid, the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE<\/a> reported exclusively on Tuesday (June 9), later confirmed by a statement from the Vatican<\/a>. The meeting took place on Monday (June 8) at the Santiago Bernab\u00e9u stadium, where the pontiff held a series of meetings following his massive gathering with the diocesan community.<\/p>\n

The possibility of a meeting between the pontiff and the Puerto Rican superstar had sparked speculation in recent days. The pope was in Madrid as part of his official visit to Spain, while Bad Bunny has been in the city since late May for a 10-concert residency at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano \u2014 part of his Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos World Tour.<\/p>\n

RTVE also reported that Bad Bunny\u2019s representatives had contacted the Spanish Episcopal Conference weeks earlier to explore the possibility of a meeting with the pontiff. \u201cIn fact, the idea was raised for him to participate in the mass gathering outside Madrid City Hall\u2014in the Plaza de Cibeles\u2014before a crowd of over a million people\u2026 although, in the end, it did not happen,\u201d the outlet wrote.<\/p>\n

Billboard Espa\u00f1ol has reached out to both Bad Bunny\u2019s team and the Vatican press office.<\/p>\n

According to information released by RTVE, Bad Bunny attended the meeting accompanied by family members and others who were also received by Leo XIV. Several photos were taken with mobile phones during the audience, the outlet said, although no official image has been made public so far. Among them is reportedly an official photograph taken by the papal entourage.<\/p>\n

The information shared by the public broadcaster indicates that the meeting was part of a series of private encounters the Pope held during his stay in Madrid. The visit coincided with a day off for Bad Bunny, who is set to return to the stage on June 10, 11, 14 and 15 to complete his final dates scheduled in the capital city.<\/p>\n
