These changes are primarily focused on the car’s aerodynamic aspects, which will be important in the fast corners of the Spanish circuit.

First, the shape of the wing elements has been modified at the points where they meet the end plate. With this, the team hopes to improve the local load on the front wing while maintaining airflow stability.

A small adjustment has been made to the front wing, namely the camber (curvature) of the front flaps has been sharpened. If the loading on the front wing turns out to be greater than expected, a flap configuration with a larger camber has been developed to deliver more aerodynamic load locally.

Red Bull introduces two front wing updates for Verstappen and Hadjar

List of Red Bull Racing updates for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix – Photo: FIA

What Red Bull Racing’s updates look like on the RB22 – Photo: FIA

So Red Bull has only brought a revised front wing to Spain. For Max Verstappen, the Grand Prix weekend in Barcelona is the moment of truth for the RB22. According to the Dutchman, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is, for the first time in a while, once again a track with fast corners.

This will make it interesting to see how Red Bull will perform, since the team was not as strong in the faster corners earlier this season. Since then, the Austrian team has brought a lot of updates to the car.

Ferrari bring huge upgrade to Spain

The team drawing attention on the update list is Ferrari. The Italian team has brought no fewer than eight updates to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Ferrari’s overhaul targets the SF-26’s front wing, floor and sidepods, with revised wing elements, a raised-nose integration and extensive floor geometry changes aimed at cleaner airflow and higher, more stable downforce.

The team says the floor architecture should better energize the rear corners and suit Lewis Hamilton’s driving style, while Charles Leclerc has adjusted his braking setup to extract more consistency.

Mercedes, leading both championships, arrive with a smaller rear-wing tweak that increases upper-element camber to boost rear load without a major drag penalty at Barcelona.
Read moreGasly hopes for podium reinstatementMeanwhile, Alpine are hoping for an upgraded result in Monaco after submitting an appeal to overturn Pierre Gasly’s penalty for speeding in the pitlane. The challenge hinges on new timing data from Formula One Management, which the stewards acknowledged may have overestimated Gasly’s pit-lane speed due to an inaccurate distance metric.

The FIA has accepted the evidence as significant and opened a Right of Review, raising the prospect of restoring Gasly’s Monaco podium and reshuffling the final classification. With several drivers penalized under the same procedure, teams and the GPDA are engaging the FIA in Barcelona to clarify the implications before a final ruling.

Red Bull Racing has implemented some upgrades to the RB22’s front wing for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
