Despite some rays of sunshine over the weekend, it has been a far-from summery feel to June so far.<\/p>\n

However, this is set to change as soaring temperatures across Spain, Portugal, and France could push UK temperatures towards 30C this weekend.<\/p>\n

So how hot will it get, and what can we expect in the coming days?<\/p>\n

When is summer set to return?<\/p>\n

Despite warm weather coming our way, it will take a bit longer for a significant improvement to last week’s unseasonably cool and rainy conditions.<\/p>\n

Low-pressure systems in the Atlantic will continue to bring fresh and cool conditions for this time of year.<\/p>\n

More wet weather will arrive from the west on Tuesday and Wednesday, accompanied by blustery winds as the rain moves through.<\/p>\n

But warmer air from Europe will try to nudge into the southern parts of England – making it feel milder.<\/p>\n

Higher pressure will try to edge in from the south and south-west as the week continues, which indicates hints of temperatures starting to recover and jump up a few degrees.<\/p>\n

What temperatures can we expect?<\/p>\n

With high pressure encouraging drier and settled conditions across the south – plus more June sunshine – it won’t take much for temperatures to rise.<\/p>\n

By the end of the week, it’ll feel much warmer for many, with potential highs of 28-30C or more currently forecast for the south-east and eastern areas.<\/p>\n

These areas are most likely to see the highest temperatures as heat builds across Europe in the next few days.<\/p>\n

It’ll become hotter across most of the continent by the end of the week, with temperatures soaring across Spain, Portugal, and France.<\/p>\n

This heat has a chance of gradually influencing our warmth into Thursday, Friday, and the following weekend.<\/p>\n

At this stage, in the coming days, there’s a split in our weather pattern between the southeast and northwest.<\/p>\n

There’s more of a focus on sunny and warmer conditions further south and east – so these areas are most likely to feel hotter by the end of the week.<\/p>\n

The north and north-west will remain more exposed to fresher air from the Atlantic and weather systems that bring further outbreaks of rain and breezy winds.<\/p>\n

Where sunshine develops in sheltered spots, it will be a welcome respite.<\/p>\n

With the Summer Solstice next weekend, days are at their longest this time of year, so there’s always time for drier, brighter conditions to develop.<\/p>\n
