{"id":4104,"date":"2026-04-14T07:43:39","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T07:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/4104\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T07:43:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T07:43:39","slug":"iqm-and-telefonica-to-deploy-quantum-computers-in-spains-cesga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/4104\/","title":{"rendered":"IQM and Telef\u00f3nica to Deploy Quantum Computers in Spain\u2019s CESGA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Insider Brief<\/p>\n<p>IQM Quantum Computers and Telef\u00f3nica have signed a purchase agreement with CESGA to install two quantum systems in Spain by June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The installation includes a 54-qubit IQM Radiance and a 5-qubit IQM Spark, supporting advanced research and hybrid quantum-classical workflows.<\/p>\n<p>This marks Spain\u2019s first installation of IQM quantum computers, positioning CESGA alongside leading European research centers.<\/p>\n<p>PRESS RELEASE \u2014 IQM Quantum Computers, the global leader in deployed, on-premises computers, and\u00a0Telef\u00f3nica, a global telecommunications provider, have joined forces to sign a purchase agreement with the Galician Supercomputing Center (CESGA) to install two full-stack quantum computers in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement,\u00a0IQM will deliver and install a 54-qubit IQM Radiance,\u00a0designed for integration into high-performance computing centers, together with\u00a0a 5-qubit IQM Spark system dedicated to education. The systems are scheduled for delivery by June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The deployment will expand\u00a0CESGA\u2019s advanced computing capabilities and strengthen its role as a key national and European research infrastructure.
