Liverpool is having to hand over millions to rivals Real Madrid to seal another transfer, which may frustrate some fans after recent interactions between the two teams<\/p>\n

Liverpool is being forced to hand over $23 million to rivals Real Madrid as part of the club’s latest transfer deal, in a potentially frustrating boost for Los Blancos this summer.<\/p>\n

It comes as the Reds have ramped up the transfer business for the window, with the recruitment team keen to give new head coach Andoni Iraola every chance of succeeding with a refreshed roster of players. Some have been by choice, with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson making way<\/a> to bring in some fresh energy within some key areas of the team.<\/p>\n

Others haven’t. Liverpool was unable to agree a new contract with Ibrahima Konate<\/a>, despite the Frenchman claiming a deal was close back in April, with the defender set to join Real Madrid<\/a> in another free transfer swoop.<\/p>\n

It is the second of such a deal in the space of a year, as Los Blancos made the controversial move for Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> last summer, which was met with plenty of backlash and criticism from Liverpool fans.<\/p>\n

Those moves have only deepened a growing rivalry between the Reds and Real Madrid<\/a>, which has bubbled away from previous encounters in the Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There may be some frustration, as a result, that Liverpool<\/a> is having to hand over $23 million to the Spanish side as a result of the transfer deal to sign Victor Munoz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old came through the club’s youth team and even made two senior appearances under Xabi Alonso<\/a>, before leaving for Osasuna last summer in a deal worth roughly $5.6 million.<\/p>\n

That contract included a $46 million release clause, which has now been triggered by Liverpool, but that in itself includes a 50 percent sell-on clause to Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

Spanish outlet AS<\/a> reports that Jose Mourinho’s club is in line for the cash boost, as the return of the manager comes with some big spending in the market.<\/p>\n

It comes as a potentially frustrating side-effect of Liverpool’s transfer deal, but one that the club ultimately won’t care too much about.<\/p>\n

In Munoz, the Reds are landing a young player with plenty of potential to grow further after a breakthrough season in La Liga with Osasuna.<\/p>\n

He brings the pace and energy that is needed in Iraola<\/a> ‘s team for his pressing style of play, while he has also shown a versatility that could prove useful as well.<\/p>\n
