{"id":45589,"date":"2026-06-25T00:57:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T00:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/45589\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T00:57:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T00:57:14","slug":"spain-park-westminster-om-earn-ahsaa-sportsmanship-awards-f","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/spain\/45589\/","title":{"rendered":"Spain Park, Westminster OM earn AHSAA Sportsmanship Awards f&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-wisiwig-body1=\"true\" class=\"txtStyle_body1 mb_$body1\">By ANDREW SIMONSON | Sports Editor<\/p>\n<p data-wisiwig-body1=\"true\" class=\"txtStyle_body1 mb_$body1\">MONTGOMERY \u2013 The AHSAA announced the 94 member high schools who earned Sportsmanship Awards\u2013and two of them hail from Shelby County.<\/p>\n<p data-wisiwig-body1=\"true\" class=\"txtStyle_body1 mb_$body1\">Spain Park High School and The Westminster School at Oak Mountain earned AHSAA Sportsmanship Awards for the 2025-26 school year, according to a press release from the association on Wednesday, June 24.<\/p>\n<p data-wisiwig-body1=\"true\" class=\"txtStyle_body1 mb_$body1\">To earn a Sportsmanship Award, a school must complete the entire athletic year without a single ejection or sportsmanship-related fine. <\/p>\n<p data-wisiwig-body1=\"true\" class=\"txtStyle_body1 mb_$body1\">\u201cWe are extremely proud of the emphasis placed on sportsmanship with AHSAA member schools,\u201d AHSAA executive director Heath Harmon said.  \u201cWhile we are not perfect, we continue to strive to provide a sportsmanship model we all can be proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-wisiwig-body1=\"true\" class=\"txtStyle_body1 mb_$body1\">Spain Park was one of just five schools in the former Class 6A to receive a Sportsmanship Award, joining Fort Payne, Oxford, Pike Road and Russell County.
