Detectives were unable to identify a suspect, and a sexual assault collection kit was completed and submitted to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing.<\/p>\n<p>The DNA that was obtained could not be linked to any known persons. The DNA was retained for future testing and comparison, the sheriff&#8217;s office said.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2026, BCI was able to match the DNA to Anthony D. Collins, 48, the release says. His DNA had recently been uploaded to the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).<\/p>\n<p>The investigation was reopened, and the case was investigated by Summit County Sheriff&#8217;s Office detectives.
