The energy company’s national subsidiary, Grupo Iberdrola en Espa\u00f1a,<\/a> has concluded the registration phase for the seventh edition of its renowned Supera Awards. Through this competition, the company recognises and financially supports projects that adopt sporting disciplines as a strategic pathway to achieving genuine gender equality.<\/p>\n

This grant programme has recorded an upward trajectory since its launch in 2020, accumulating more than 6,100 submitted proposals. With these figures, the call for entries establishes itself as one of the most significant private pillars supporting women’s sport<\/a> within the national territory.<\/p>\n

As the main novelty for this year, the structure of the awards expands with the creation of the ‘Supera Health and Well-being’ and ‘Supera Veterans’ categories. These new branches complement the competition’s six traditional categories. Each of the eight resulting divisions will have an individual allocation of \u20ac50,000, amounting to a joint investment of \u20ac400,000 aimed directly at the visibility, integration, and physical development of girls and women.<\/p>\n

This action responds directly to Iberdrola’s commitment<\/a> to community progress and equal opportunities. Since 2016, the entity has played an active role as a strategic partner to multiple public bodies and federations across the country, including prominent national organisations such as the Federaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Triatl\u00f3n<\/a> (Spanish Triatlon Federation) and the Real Federaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Hockey<\/a> (Royal Spanish Hockey Federation).<\/p>\n

Through the sponsorship of 35 of these official national institutions, the number of registered female athletes in women’s sport<\/a> has experienced an increase of over 80% over the last decade, currently approaching the historic figure of 820,000 active licensed sports-women.<\/p>\n
