We have already seen one Newcastle United<\/a> winger head to Spain this summer. Anthony Gordon has headed to Barcelona in a \u00a370 million move, one that not many would have seen coming, to be very honest.<\/p>\n

With the eyes of the planet on the game of Argentina at the World Cup, it appears that the Magpies have been working quietly in the background.<\/p>\n

Another Newcastle United player is headed to Spain. But in this case, it is a move that many might have expected and one that is not going to have a massive impact on the team.<\/p>\n

It was just last summer that Antonio Cordero joined Newcastle United. He has had a couple of loan spells away from the club already and it looks like another one has already been agreed.<\/p>\n

Antonio Cordero set to complete loan move back to Spain<\/p>\n

According to Chronicle Live<\/a>, Cordero is set to re-join Cadiz on loan. The winger\u2019s wish was to remain with his hometown club next season. So, a \u2018swift agreement\u2019 has been reached between the two clubs.<\/p>\n

The report further goes to state that the move will be confirmed in an announcement later this week, with Cordero set to spend another season in Spain.<\/p>\n

It is not hard to see why Cordero might have been keen on a move back to Spain. The winger had been part of Cadiz\u2019s youth system at one point in his career.<\/p>\n

He also looks a lot more comfortable in Spanish football. He spent some time out on loan at Belgian side Westerlo and struggled. But he went to Cadiz and did well, scoring three goals in 21 appearances. Before that, he had done well for Malaga as well, which had convinced the Magpies to sign him.<\/p>\n

Does Cordero have a long-term future at Newcastle United?<\/p>\n

It is safe to say that Cordero will have to prove himself at a lot higher level than the Spanish second division if he wants to have a future at St James\u2019 Park.<\/p>\n

But at the same time, one cannot overlook the fact that Cordero is still just 19 years of age. It is only natural for him to have a few stumbles early on. The spell at Westerlo was one.<\/p>\n

The good news is that he now seems to have settled down at Cadiz. The next step is to improve his output and establish himself as a nailed-on starter at the senior level.<\/p>\n

A meaningful role at Newcastle United is quite some distance away. A good loan spell or two, and it might no longer feel that way though.<\/p>\n
