A tough tie in which the team were the better side across both legs, but Atlético’s efficiency and know-how ultimately proved decisive.

With the European adventure now over, here’s a look at the key stats from Barça’s Champions League campaign:

12 games played

Barça bow out having played 12 matches across the league phase, the round of 16 and the quarter-finals, with no need to navigate the play-off round.

Barça recorded seven wins (five in the league phase, plus second-leg victories against Newcastle and Atlético), two draws (against Club Brugge in the league phase and Newcastle in the first leg of the round of 16), and three defeats (against PSG and Chelsea in the league phase, and Atlético in the first leg of the quarter-finals).

Lamine Yamal most used

With 874 minutes played, Lamine Yamal was Hansi Flick’s most used player in the competition. He is followed by Jules Koundé (868), Joan García (802), Fermín Lopez (801), and Gerard Martín (791).

32 goals

Averaging 2.67 goals per game, Barça once again demonstrated their attacking strength, scoring 32 goals in total (25 from inside the box and 6 from outside).

14 were scored with the right foot, 13 with the left, and 4 headers. The remaining goal was an own goal by Tzolis (Club Brugge) in the 3-3 draw at the Jan Breydel Stadium.

Barça also converted four penalties this season: three from Lamine Yamal and one from Raphinha.

Fermín and Lamine top the scoring

The 32 goals were widely shared, but Lamine Yamal and Fermín López led the way with six goals each, followed closely by Marcus Rashford with 5.

Robert Lewandowski scored 4, while Raphinha and Ferran Torres added 3 each. Koundé (2), and Olmo and Bernal (1 each), complete the list, alongside Tzolis’ own goal.

Notably, Lamine Yamal became the youngest player ever to register at least ten goal involvements in a single Champions League campaign (6 goals and 4 assists at 18 years and 275 days).

20 goals conceded

Defence is an area for improvement. Barça conceded an average of 1.67 goals per game and failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their 12 matches. That’s something to address in future editions.

24 yellows 3 reds

Barça received 24 yellow cards across their 12 matches, with Lamine Yamal (4) and Frenkie de Jong (3) the most booked.

There were also three red cards. Ronald Araújo was sent off against Chelsea (44th minute) in the league phase. The other two came in the quarter-final tie against Atlético: Pau Cubarsí saw red in the first leg (44th minute), and Eric García was sent off in the return leg (79th minute).

Youngest team ever

Barça’s youthful squad once again underlined its potential. In the second leg against Atlético, with the team chasing a comeback, the starting XI became the youngest ever fielded by the club in a Champions League knockout tie.

For the first time, the average age dropped below 25 (24.95) years.

The line-up and the ages was: Joan García (24), Cancelo (31), Gavi (21), Ferran (26), Pedri (23), Lamine Yamal (18), Fermín (22), Gerard Martín (24), Olmo (27), Koundé (27) and Eric (25).

It could have been even lower, as regular starter Pau Cubarsí (19) was suspended.

Top 8 again

Since the introduction of the new Champions League format with a league phase, Barça have finished in the top eight in both editions.

Last season, they finished second behind Liverpool with 19 points (6 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat). This season, they ended fifth with 16 points (5 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats).

The 2025/26 Champions League campaign comes to an end for Barça following elimination against Atlético Madrid in the…

[5
92,483
0":"post-5292","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-barcelona","8":"tag-barcelona","9":"tag-text
["GET
