Menorca is home to more than 100 beaches, offering everything from secluded coves to long, family-friendly stretches of sand.

With its pine-framed bays, calm shallow waters and quieter atmosphere, it delivers the same “far-flung” feel as destinations like the Maldives, but just two hours from the UK.

Britons ready to lounge on sun-soaked beaches by crystal-clear waters this summer may not need to travel far for a slice of paradise

|

TUI

It’s also proving to be a strong-value option for summer 2026, with seven-night holidays available from £503 per person – making it a great choice for both couples and families looking to keep costs in check.

According to TUI expert Jan Kroeger, who lives on the island, these are the beaches that should top every traveller’s list.

Macarella and Macarelleta

Macarella and Macarelleta are among the island’s most celebrated spots, tucked into a secluded west-coast bay.

Kroeger said: “The island’s most celebrated spots are Macarella and its little sister Macarelleta, which are tucked into a secluded west-coast bay where powder-white sand meets pine-framed cliffs and crystal-clear water. Accessed by foot or boat from Cala Galdana, both spots really embody Menorca’s reputation for virgin beaches which are protected, undeveloped stretches of coastline that feel like a genuine hidden paradise.

“Macarella is also one of the standout stops along the Camí de Cavalls which is the island’s iconic coastal trail. It’s the only bay on the route with a beach bar so it’s a great stop for walkers to rest for a drink or a light bite.”

Son Bou

Son Bou offers one of the easiest and most accessible beach days on the island.

Kroeger said: “For families, Son Bou offers a completely different kind of bliss. The beach is a long three-kilometre stretch of soft golden sand paired with shallow waters ideal for children and paddlers. It has some lovely amenities including restaurants, shops and water sports rentals, so it’s great for long, easy beach days that require zero planning.”

Santo Tomás

Those who prefer peace and quiet will find it at Santo Tomás, a smaller, scenic spot surrounded by nature.

Kroeger said: “Travellers seeking real serenity will love Santo Tomas. It is a small pine-backed beach with clear waters and it’s the ideal beach for those wanting to fully switch off with no disruptions. It would be the perfect setting for reading, floating, sun-lounging and stretching out in pure bliss.

“As you drive from the heart of the island along the small, winding road toward Santo Tomás, it’s lined with huge trees which create a beautiful natural tunnel. You then suddenly pop out the other side and all you can see is golden sand, rich greenery and the deep Mediterranean sea.”

A travel expert highlighted some of the best beaches

|

TUI

There are more than 100 beaches on the island

|

TUI

Cavalleria Beach

For something more rugged, Cavalleria Beach offers a completely different landscape on the island’s north coast.

Kroeger said: “For people who are after something more rugged and dramatic, Cavalleria Beach on Menorca’s northern side is full of wild beauty. Its red-hued sands and untouched landscape make it a great spot for snorkellers and nature-lovers.

“Just above the beach there is also a short path that leads to a panoramic viewpoint with picnic tables which is a great spot for taking in the coastline before you head down to the beach.
