Acciona and Real Betis Balompi\u00e9 have begun renovations at Seville\u2019s Benito Villamar\u00edn Stadium, launching the first phase of a multi-stage redevelopment project.<\/p>\n
The project aims to increase the venue\u2019s capacity and update the facility, Acciona said.<\/p>\n

The current phase involves excavation and installation of diaphragm retaining walls in preparation for new below-ground levels.<\/p>\n
In the coming months, both parties, operating under a joint delivery model, will continue to refine technical aspects of the project and optimise the final design.<\/p>\n
The collaborative approach aims to integrate solutions developed by both Acciona and Real Betis Balompi\u00e9.<\/p>\n
Subsequent phases will see the construction of a new stand, refurbishment of existing seating areas, including Gol Norte, Fondo and Gol Sur, and the building of an adjacent mixed-use structure.<\/p>\n
Plans also cover the addition of several underground parking floors, a new roof and a facade for the entire stadium.<\/p>\n

Construction activity will be organised to maintain urban mobility and manage noise to reduce disruption to the Heli\u00f3polis neighbourhood surrounding the stadium.<\/p>\n
The redevelopment aims to establish Benito Villamar\u00edn Stadium as a \u201cleading urban and sports landmark\u201d in Seville, with plans to introduce new architectural designs, improved functionality, advanced technology and notable upgrades for supporters.<\/p>\n
Previously, Acciona delivered the Rafael Gordillo Training Complex in Dos Hermanas, which features football pitches, shared dressing rooms, office space, a gymnasium, medical facilities and meeting rooms.<\/p>\n
The development also included supporting buildings for maintenance and control, connected road infrastructure and urbanisation of the area.<\/p>\n

This training facility was designed with an emphasis on sustainability measures, including bioclimatic features, natural ventilation, energy efficiency, water reuse systems and integration of renewable energy, aligning with Real Betis\u2019s Forever Green environmental programme.<\/p>\n
Acciona has also been responsible for constructing large-scale sports infrastructure elsewhere in Spain, such as Bilbao’s San Mam\u00e9s Stadium and the training complex for Club Deportivo Tenerife.<\/p>\n
