The project is among the largest renewable energy initiatives undertaken by Italy’s large-scale retail sector and supports the industry’s decarbonization efforts.

The agreement provides for the delivery of approximately 1,000 GWh of certified solar electricity over its term. According to the companies, the renewable energy supply is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 38,300 tonnes annually, an amount equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 40,300 households.

Pam Panorama said the initiative forms part of its broader sustainability strategy aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting more sustainable consumption models across its operations.

Alessandro Riolfo, Technical Director of Pam Panorama, said the operational launch of the renewable energy supply demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting the energy transition by integrating sustainable energy solutions into its daily operations. He added that the collaboration with Iberdrola will help reduce the environmental impact of its retail network while contributing to the transition toward a low-emission economy.

Valerio Faccenda, Country Manager of Iberdrola Italia, said the agreement represents a significant step in decarbonizing Italy’s large-scale retail sector. He noted that the PPA demonstrates how renewable energy can be integrated into large-scale business operations while delivering both environmental and long-term business value.

The renewable electricity supplied under the agreement will be sourced entirely from Iberdrola’s Fenix photovoltaic plant, located across the municipalities of Belpasso, Centuripe, and Paternò between the provinces of Enna and Catania. The facility, recently inaugurated by Iberdrola, is currently the largest photovoltaic plant in Italy.

Discover more from SolarQuarter

Subscribe to get the latest posts sent to your email.

Pam Panorama and Iberdrola Italia have officially commenced operations under their 10-year off-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), marking…

[122
66,146,866,13906,861
post-56069","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-iberdrola","tag-europe","tag-iberdrola","tag-italy","tag-ppa","tag-solar-energy
["GET
