Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> has expressed his delight at working with reappointed Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho<\/a>, describing it as “a pleasure” and stating his belief that the Portuguese coach can help the club secure trophies. <\/p>\n

Mourinho returned to the Spanish giants in June for his second spell, following a disappointing previous campaign where the club missed out on silverware after finishing second in La Liga behind Barcelona and exiting the Champions League at the quarter-final stage after losing to Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid from Liverpool last year, is relishing the chance to play under Mourinho. <\/p>\n

“I have always admired the coach (Mourinho). I\u2019ve played against him a couple of times, and it\u2019s a pleasure to work with him and his team,” he said in a statement. <\/p>\n

He further elaborated on the demanding environment Mourinho has cultivated, noting: “It\u2019s intense. The principles and the level of demand are very high, so I\u2019m looking forward to seeing how, the more we get to know each other, the more we learn and the more he can teach us. And we\u2019re all willing and eager to learn and improve.”<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old full-back added: “I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll teach us many things and help us win trophies this year.” <\/p>\n

Alexander-Arnold’s first season in Spain was hampered by injuries, which meant he did not always command a regular place in the starting line-up, often rotating in and out of the side. However, the departure of defender Dani Carvajal in May has now opened a significant opportunity for him to establish himself as Madrid’s first-choice right-back. <\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve been out of action for a long time, so it\u2019s good to finally be back and to lay a solid foundation for a successful season,” he commented. <\/p>\n

Real Madrid are set to kick off their 2026-27 LaLiga campaign against Espanyol on August 22.<\/p>\n

Alexander-Arnold may also feel he has a point to prove after being left out of England\u2019s World Cup squad by Thomas Tuchel.<\/p>\n
